Timothy Powers-Reed

Rev. Tim Powers-Reed (he/they) is a queer pastor, writer, and unapologetic lover of theology, musicals, and the sacred messiness of life. He serves as the pastor of Trinity UCC Belleville, where he believes that church should be a place of radical love, deep belonging, and just enough holy chaos to keep things interesting. Tim is the creator of Pastor Talk (www.pastortalk.net), a blog where faith meets real life—often with a Broadway soundtrack, a side of snark, and a whole lot of grace. Whether he’s unpacking scripture, wrestling with big questions, or celebrating the beauty of chosen family, his writing is rooted in a theology that affirms, challenges, and comforts all in the same breath. Beyond the pulpit and the page, Tim directs Rainbow Camp, providing a sacred space for LGBTQ+ youth and adults to explore faith and identity in an affirming community. When he’s not preaching, writing, or planning his next sermon series (which often features show tunes), you can find him singing with the Gateway Men's Chorus, sipping coffee at Picasso’s Coffeehouse, or sharing life with his husband, Shea Powers-Reed, and their ever-attentive pup, Ivy. Tim believes in a faith that is lived out loud, love that is unconditional, and a church where all truly means all.
