Sisters Chasah and Charliese West are a screenwriting duo who grew up in South Africa, Zambia, and the USA. In 2023, Chasah and Charliese were among six teams of Louisiana-based filmmakers to participate in the 2023 Emerging Voices Directors Lab. Their genre scripts—led by characters of color with complex family relationships—have placed in a handful of screenwriting contests and film festivals. The list includes Phoenix Film Festival (finalist, 2022), Austin Film Festival (2nd Rounder, 2021), ScreenCraft's Action & Adventure Screenplay Competition (Semifinalist, 2021), New Orleans Film Festival Louisiana Screenplay (Top 5, 2019), and Louisiana International Film Festival Screenplay Competition (Finalist, 2019).
