Artist Statement: The images in my portfolio are works in a series that I will probably continue the rest of my life (even if I’d make some different stylistic choices as I continue to grow as an artist). I’ve always loved black and white film because it was my first photography experience: working in a darkroom to make so many things come together in an impactful composition. There was no “fix it in post” just “hope you get the shot.” My best shots have happened with a lot of luck at every stage of the development process, much like my life. Today, I take the lessons of the craft into the digital age. When I have my own show, I want to produce pictures of people having that same kind of life moment… where everything comes together, some way/some how.
