Teresa Streva

Esoterica (Beautiful Chaos) Welcome to my world. My art is as eclectic and diverse as all 200+ of my personalities. (Which happen to come in quite handy as an actor.) I was not always an artist. In fact, the first time someone referred to me as “an artist” it sounded quite foreign to my ears. I prefer larger-scale painting. You know, like 40-foot theater walls. (But that isn’t always an option, so I’ve adjusted to the size that will fit inside my art studio.) I have designed, created and painted over almost 30 sets for local community theaters. From the elaborate prison stones in “Man of LaMancha”, to the fun and whimsical “Disney’s Mulan, Jr.” Being self-taught and raw at my craft, each time I would finish an elaborate 40-ft wall, I would stand back in awe and wonder, ‘How?’ And I would look above and utter, “thank you.” Out of necessity for a high-school musical backdrop, I then went on to develop a passion for airbrushing. I've been involved in over 103 productions in some way; whether it be set artist, actor, program cover design, tech. I love it all. My all-time favorite role, however, has to be that of Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest." I have since opened up to short film and recently directed my first play, Drinking Habits, in April of 2021. My husband and I have recently created Streva Productions to keep our creative juices flowing. We are producing plays, working on short films, and writing original pieces.
