Shaina Rogers is a renowned writer who was awarded the 2022 Southeast Emmy Student Production Awards by the Nat’l Academy of Television & Sciences Southeast Foundation. She holds an M.F.A from Savannah College of Arts and Design in Dramatic Writing. Shaina writes fluently in a combination of homemade butter biscuits, Mardi Gras beads, and Southern dialect, which captures the essence of the Black culture. She aims to represent the colorful way of life and provide a better understanding of it.
Before joining SCAD, she founded the Natural Charms of Arts theatre company to pass on her knowledge and to help develop local talent in Shreveport, Louisiana. After obtaining a B.A. in Visual &; Performing Arts from Grambling State University, she created a safe space for those who needed a creative outlet. Through her natural talent, hard work, and unyielding will, Shaina has transformed her childhood passion into a successful career. Her talent and tenacity have allowed her to collaborate with esteemed leaders from around the world.
As a progressive professional with experience, Shaina believes that she can contribute meaningfully and motivate today’s community.
