Sara Crochet

Sara Crochet is an American filmmaker + photographer + artist based in Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned a BA in Moving Image Arts and Cinema Studies with a minor in Visual Arts (2017) from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Themes of her projects focus on issues surrounding self-expression, identity, gender, trauma, therapy, and healing. Her work has been internationally recognized, receiving the Gold Prize in the 2018-2019 Nikon Photo Contest in Tokyo, Japan. Her submission “Exulansis” was awarded the top prize in the contest’s Short Film Category and later featured in the contest’s traveling exhibition, where it has been displayed in ten different countries throughout Southern Asia and Europe. The short film was also featured in Louisiana’s Southern Screen Film Festival (2019). In November 2019, Crochet was a participant in a masterclass hosted by the Nikon-Noor Academy in Spain.
