Vally O. is a multidisciplinary storyteller whose work bridges writing, advocacy, performance art, and community engagement. Rooted in her Louisiana upbringing, her creative journey began with poetry and expanded into performance art theater. She has performed across the country, blending movement, narrative, and social justice to create transformative storytelling experiences. Her work has evolved into movement plays—mid to large-scale productions that fuse various artistic expressions into compelling narratives centered on social justice.
Her latest project, It Gets Darker: An Afrofuturist Heritage Month Event, was a sold-out production in partnership with Recirculating Farms. The 60-minute performance featured six women of color, including Vally, and intricately wove farming culture into a metaphorical exploration of self-worth, growth, and the diverse expressions of the African American experience. The event combined performance art with culinary offerings, giveaways, and regenerative farming workshops, creating a holistic and immersive experience.
Vally continues to seek opportunities to collaborate with organizations, artists, and advocates to create lasting, sustainable impact through her movement plays.
