My intent was not to be an artist. Even after dancing in college dance was not my focus. After returning to Shreveport, I just taught dance as a side job. During 1975 I meet Mr. Gloria Gipson, who was interested in establishing the Theatre of the Performing Arts, and wanted to know if I was interested in being the Dance Director. I said yes, and that was the beginning of my career as a dance instructor, choreographer, and an establish professional dancer. Dance was my way of creating and speaking to people about social, political, spiritual and educational happenings.
