Born here in Lafayette, I took an interest in my maternal grandparents' native language at an early age. I'm one of those terribly boring people who do something for a living (i.e. work on projects supporting French in Louisiana), and then in their spare time, basically continue doing the same thing (i.e. create in Louisiana French). Maybe one day I'll get a real hobby like pottery or something. *** Creative writing in English & French, particularly Louisiana French: poetry, song lyrics, essays, TV/film scripts, translations, magazine articles, academic writing, grantwriting... Have co-written songs with Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys, Les Amis du Teche, and other Louisiana musicians. Translated and co-produced an EP of holiday music in Louisiana French called "Joyeux Noël, Bon Chrismeusse." Scriptwriter for Season 1 of the cartoon "Les Aventures de Boudini et ses Amis." Invited to read original poetry internationally at francophone festivals like la Nuit de Poésie à Mexique (2021) & le Festival Acadien de Poésie (2022).
