Mitch "The Magician" Richard

Mitch Richard is a native of Kaplan, Louisiana. As a child, in his free time he loved to read books about entertainers of the vaudeville era and had a big imagination. He regularly entertained family and friends with simple tricks he had read about. In 7th grade, a teacher allowed him the first 5 minutes of each day to use his creativity to energize the class. The deal was that after the entertainment he had to focus on his schoolwork and maintain at least a B average. This was his favorite class; it sparked his passion for entertaining and gave him a solid work ethic for business. At the age of sixteen he learned to make balloon animals from a local balloon artist. This instruction and influence turned out to be the guiding force for his life as an entertainer. From 18-22 years old, like many other young Louisiana men, Mitch worked offshore as a deckhand on utility boats, and floor hand on drilling rigs. During this time, he would continue to practice making balloons, and when not at work, he would find opportunities in the downtown area of Lafayette to make balloon animals for tips. After 4 years offshore, he knew it was time to follow his passion, and at 22 years old he gave his notice, took his bag of balloons, and started traveling the country with the Renaissance Festival. It was during this time he learned to juggle. Mitch was 27 when he asked a locally famous magician to teach him the basics of magic and the rest, as they say, is comedy magic history. These days Mitch lives in Lafayette and is the owner of MLRmagic.com, a family entertainment company. In business since 2005, MLRmagic.com has been providing comedy magic shows, face painting, balloon twisting, and more, for corporate events, company picnics, retirement homes, birthday parties, libraries, and schools. Mitch is also a member of several local chambers of commerce. Most times he can be found making people laugh and entertaining all ages with his talents as magician, comedian, balloon artist, bubble artist, ukulele player, and juggler. Above all, Mitch Richard would like to thank God for his talents and the many clients for letting him entertain their families over the years. Thank You, Mitch Richard MLRmagic.com 337-356-5031
