Loretta Casteen is a writer and artist in Shreveport, LA. Her short stories and articles have appeared in print and online, including Strange Horizons, Eye to the Telescope and Twisted Boulevard. She primarily writes speculative fiction and poetry. In 2017 her poem "Of One's Choosing" was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association. Loretta's visual art is comprised of mixed media collage work. Her collage "Wake Up and Sing" was selected for the 2020 Bloom! Exhibition at Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport. Her art has appeared in exhibitions at Minicine? and in The Bossier Arts Council's "Contained" shows.
She discovered junk mail made excellent collage material during the pandemic lockdown of 2020. The junk mail continues to arrive unabated and free of charge almost every single day.
