Hiram Cardona Jr., is a Hartford Sun. A rose that grew through the cracks
in the system, while absorbing the 1980s culture of music, food, and art.
Seeds had been planted. Forced to grow after witnessing his Beloved
Mother’s murder, The Culture of Hip Hop literally Raised Hiram. It became
an outlet to channel energy, to experiment with expression, and to heal.
Mentors introduced art, drawing, writing, dance, music, and sports. Hydro
was born. Also a young boxer falling in love with rap music, Hydro began
battle rapping. Competing, defeating and earning the respect of his peers,
he would go on to become a 2x Champion on the BET Networks top rated
show 106 & Park Freestyle Friday segment. Hydro, a father, husband, &
good neighbor invests his energy in creating Peace Love Unity & Fun.
Creating artistic sound, visual experiences infused with the elements of hip
hop. Using live music or just the sound of the spoken word to curate dope
ART. In Memory of a Hip Hop Hero now Ancestor MF DOOM and inspired
by a love of wrestling, comics, and boom bap rap, Hydro donned a red,
white and blue Lucha Libre Mask creating an alter ego Boom Baptin
America! Collaborating with other artists to create a special synergy, Hiram
Hydro Baptin brings his energy, making and raising the vibrations wherever
he goes. Through Music & Art connections are made with the community.
Shows become interactive, reaching, teaching, & mentoring with peaceful
principles for community building. Uplifting other artists & young creators
are some of his passions. His musical recipe includes, chopping, mixing,
stirring in live instruments, elements of sampling, and freestyling to create
some funky feel good vibes and flows. Catch Hydro indoors on stage going
