Hello, my name is Courtney Collins, a filmmaker whose main goal is to create intriguing and thought-provoking films that inspire and bring change.
Born in Monroe Louisiana I grew up fascinated with movies. I wrote my first screenplay at 16 and made my first movie "home video" soon after.
I attended The University of Louisiana at Monroe where I received my degree in Mass Communications, concentrating on Video Production. Learning different camera techniques and how to format a screenplay really helped me hone my skill set to write my first feature film.
After graduating from ULM, I worked in broadcast journalism for 5 years as an Associate Producer. "Working in news helped me prioritize what was important and what really mattered."
After resigning from broadcast journalism, I came back to my old stomping grounds as the Assistant Director of Student Publications, where I'm currently employed. "I love my job! It has been a Master Class learning, growing, and developing my skills further."
Courtney has big plans for the future as she continues to write, direct, and produce more films.
