When I was a child, I heard the calling to be an artist, but I lacked a Great Subject similar to the ones in the art we all study when in school. Blah blah blah. Who cares? I finally found my subject for the art I make. At the heart of every piece of my 3D art is plastic that would have otherwise been thrown away. I feel very strongly about saving the planet. I hope my art, which has become my mission, makes a few people change how they treat this home we call Earth. The most “me” I can be is to utilize rescued funky fabrics from other women’s stashes and reclaimed plastic as the substrate for my 3D pieces. And sometimes I draw and paint. All it takes is discipline and focus, children.
