I am a member of Artists in Real Time, Inc. and an annual participant in the city-wide Open Studio Hartford. My love of animals & nature has provided the inspiration for my creations. The pottery of primitive cultures with it’s simplicity of design & its relationship to the animal world has been a strong influence in my work. When sculpting clay I have no set plan on what I’m going to create - this is what has kept me intrigued for many years working in this medium. Working in stoneware I apply layers of oxides to the surface of my sculptures to create a feeling of antiquity.
