My name is Gregory Quick. As an artist, I go by "Gee Que". I am a fine artist, who was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised in Greenville, MS. I would say the city that raised me is the city that made me. I learned many valuable lessons about accepting who you are and relishing in it, by growing up in Greenville. I try to create artwork that reflects self acceptance and being loud about who you are, in this world. I am a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Art with a minor in Graphic Design. As a self-taught painter, I mainly work with acrylics on canvas. I create artwork that is reflective of the image of African American people and the creativity we possess. My bright and vivid colors are a representation of that creativity. I believe representation is important, and that is why I depict the subjects in my paintings, as the forefront and never the background. My art is created to make an impact and to allow the audience to immerse themselves in my work.
