Evelyn Cheung

Evelyn Cheung was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam and her birth name is Truong My Linh. She is currently a senior at Webster University, a Gleich Honors Scholar, and majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in Film, Television, and Video Production. Before being a Webster student, she had worked in Dubai for 5 years with Emirates Airline as a flight attendant and completed her Associate’s Degree at St. Louis Community College. In 2021, she was awarded “Emerging Writer” at St. Louis Community College at the Meramec. Her poems were published for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023 in The Meramec Currents Literary Journal and 2022 in Voyageur Magazine at St. Louis Community College at the Florissant Valley. At Webster University, she directed some short films which mainly depict trauma and tragedy. Her most recent drama Papa’s Socks was screened at Webster Film Kinemanifest Spring 2023. Evelyn’s favorite poet is Louis Glück, and she adores Stephen Chow as well as everything about Hong Kong martial arts cinema.
