Emuni Sanderson is a Southern storyteller, cultural strategist, and emerging multidisciplinary artist based in Baton Rouge, LA, by way of Birmingham, AL and Tennessee. She has spent over a decade leading initiatives at the intersection of public policy, health equity, and community organizing—while steadily reclaiming her creative voice through film, writing, and cultural memory work.
A co-producer of Some Kind of Heavenly Fire (2024), Emuni’s artistic practice now centers Black Southern narratives, collective healing, and the power of lived experience. Whether designing community programming, creating narrative strategy, or exploring justice through film, she seeks to elevate stories that have long been overlooked. Emuni holds an MPA with a nonprofit specialization and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Studies with a focus on health disparities and carceral impact.
