My name is Edi Kí, also known as Eddy Key. I was born on December 2, 1993, in Temple, Texas, but my heart and soul were shaped in Shreveport, Louisiana, where I was raised. Music has always been my lifeline, my way of making sense of the world, and my tool for change. As a trans-male artist, I’ve set out to make a difference, starting right here in my city of Shreveport and expanding far beyond.
My music is deeply personal, inspired by my own life and the experiences I encounter daily. Writing and creating are more than just hobbies—they’re how I navigate the constant thoughts running through my mind. When I write a song, it’s not just about the words or the melody; it’s about healing. My goal has always been to help mend broken hearts, even if just for a moment. That’s why my music is for everyone.
Taking a leap of faith in myself, I released my first single and music visual, My Year, on October 7, 2022. That moment changed everything. Ever since that song entered the world, I’ve been living proof that dreams don’t have to stay dreams. It was a declaration of my journey, my passion, and my belief in myself—and it resonated with others in a way I never could have imagined.
One of my greatest joys is standing on a stage, performing my original songs for an audience. There’s nothing like the energy of live music—the connection, the shared experience, the raw emotion. I’ve had the honor of performing at various music festivals and venues, including Red River Revel, Artish, Let The Good Times Roll, and 318 Day Festival, to name a few. Each performance is a reminder of why I do this, why music is so important.
Music is the strongest form of magic. It has the power to transform a moment, change a mood, and even save a life. I know this because it saved mine more times than I can count. Now, I’ve been given my own song to sing, a voice to use, and a platform to share that same healing energy with others.
I am more than an artist—I am a beacon of hope, light, positivity, and love. My vision is pure, my path is clear, and I truly believe that healing is near. If my music can touch even one soul, then every note, every lyric, and every performance is worth it.
This is my story, but it’s only the beginning.
