Dyra Turner
Dyra Turner is a Shreveport-based artist who earned her Fine and Graphic Arts degree from Northwestern State University in 2023. Her work explores self-expression and connection, drawing inspiration from magical worlds like Winx Club and anime.
Working primarily with oil paint and glass mosaics, Dyra blends themes of transformation and imagination, creating pieces that reflect personal growth and invite viewers to connect with their own experiences. Her art bridges the personal and universal, fostering empathy and connection through visual storytelling.
Artist Statement: My work is driven by a desire to create pieces that go beyond words, using color, form, and composition to express emotions and experiences that cannot always be conveyed through language. I strive to craft tasteful and ethereal works that reflect both my personal journey and universal themes that others can relate to.
Through my art, I aim to offer a space for reflection and connection, inviting viewers to find resonance in the colors, textures, and situations I portray.
