Dustan Louque

Dustan Louque got his start in Brooklyn making a loop based record out of his home studio in Williamsburg where he was surrounded by artist and had just completed his time at The Stella Adler Conservatory and chose the musical path. After three years, his debut record “So Long” was born and it quickly changed the coarse of things. The mixture of his Louisiana roots and the collage of beats and dub styles earned him a spot on Atlantic Records roster for two years where he began to place songs in film and television. During the next five years he would only make records and film music and stopped touring. He worked with many musicians during this time from the old downtown scene in New York. He began collaborating with artist like Nels Cline and combining elements of folk and dub. After years of not playing live and many folks writing asking about live shows, he bought a touring van and began touring solo playing living rooms, barns and loft spaces all over the country. He is often joined by classical pianist, Margaret Hebert. Today he is working completely independent with no label or manager and has rebuilt his business in a “farm to table” style. When not on the road, he resides in Lafayette, La.
