My passion for photography began one summer in Hyannis, MA, when my brother handed me his old EXA camera and a roll of TRI-X black and white film. He sent me out to capture whatever caught my eye, promising we’d develop the film together when I returned. That day sparked a lifelong fascination with the art of image-making.
After experimenting with Polaroid Instamatics, I received my first 35mm camera—a Pentax K1000—for my high school graduation, and that’s when my journey truly took off. I photographed for the yearbook, captured informal portraits for classmates, and even shot two weddings, all while learning the ropes with my trusty Pentax. Eager to deepen my skills, I built a home darkroom and took college courses to master both photography and post-processing.
Over the years, my camera has been a constant companion—documenting my children’s first steps, dance recitals, sporting events, family gatherings, vacations, and even the thrill of race day at Stafford Speedway. For me, the photograph is just the beginning. Whether in the traditional darkroom or today’s digital workspace, I strive to process each image in a way that brings my creative vision to life.
