Artist, author, illustrator and graphic designer Denise Gallagher is known for her love of mystery and magic inspired by her Louisiana home.
Whether whimsical and dark, or clean and sleek, she can brainstorm and design with a team or create creative storms on her own. And she's as proficient with a pencil as she is with keystroke.
Her work has graced festival posters, music packaging, merchandise and books. Her artwork has been displayed in museums and galleries in New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Indianapolis and throughout Louisiana.
Denise has written and published two picture books, “Moonsong” published in 2021 and “A Tip Tap Tale” published in 2017. She has also illustrated folk tales from Louisiana and Canada.
Denise’s illustrations have been included in Communication Arts Magazine’s Illustration Annual, the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles' Illustration West 50 Show and the Society of Illustrators New York 51st Annual Show.
She is the Illustrator Coordinator for the Louisiana/Mississippi Region of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She is also part of the Teaching Artist Program through the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Denise is devoted to promoting a love of arts and literature and speaks regularly on the subject of art and writing to students from kindergarten through college.
