I always said "I want to end up with a skateboard under my feet for my job or in my hands for my job". It's really funny how things worked out. I am a full time artist who makes art from old skateboards, and I have a skateboard in my hands almost every hour of the day. I work with skate shops all over the United States to save old used skateboards from ending up in the trash and then I convert those old skateboards into usable lumber to make my art. Every single day I get to hang out with the kid in me while creating my art. Whenever I am in creation mode the outside world seems to fade, time dissipates, and I enter into my flow state. Because my art represents the very core of my heart and my inner child I feel like my work and play are one in the same. It seems as though the universe has conspired to make my childhood dreams turn into a reality that the 12 year old me would be very proud of. It's my ultimate goal to do the same for people in my community through my art. Every day I get to play with skateboards and create. For that I am forever grateful and I say thank you often, but I should always say it more. I absolutely love art and I love what I do. Thank you!
