For me, art, especially painting, is not just something that I do when I have a spare moment. It is a way of life and something that flows freely through me at all times. I have always loved art in its various forms. As a child I would watch hours long operas and ballets with my parents. I painted, sketched, wrote poetry, acted out mini-plays in the living room, made jewelry and hair accessories, and was an avid reader. Nothing was off the table as far as creativity goes. My family was always supportive and fostered my interest in all things. Whether it was dinosaurs or space they were always there to offer tools to help me learn. My mother is a brilliant artist as was my uncle who sadly passed unexpectedly in October of 2017. My father is an incredible guitarist and has dabbled in photography as well. I guess you could say quite honestly that art is in my blood. Many things have influenced me artistically throughout my life. I'm fascinated with volcanoes and space as well as cloud formations and plant life. Animals are one of my biggest loves and something as simple as the shape and color of a cat's eye can inspire me to create something beautiful. I also look up to many figures in music, books, movies, fashion, and TV and these people have inspired me as well as challenged me and therefore have a special place in my artistic process. I love the autumn and Halloween, it's my absolute favorite. I revel in the darkness of witchcraft & it's beautiful, mysterious symbolism.
