Cayla Mattea Zeek is an artist from Lafayette, LA and graduated at University of Louisiana with an Outstanding Student award in painting. Her artwork is characterized by a mixed media layering process with watercolor, pen, charcoal, acrylic and oil on canvas. She gathers inspirations from her many travels as well as her experiences growing up in Louisiana. Her work encompasses themes of mythology, alchemy, Louisiana flora + fauna, and the body. In 2019, she emerged into the art of film-making writing and directing a music video for Scenic World "Collecting Doubt". From there she has continued a path in all ranges of film-making, design, photography, painting, entrepreneurship, and being a mother. She has shown her work through many exhibitions in galleries of Lafayette, Louisiana such as the Acadiana Center of the Arts, Russo Gallery, The George Rodrigue Foundation, and The Hilliard Art Museum.
