My mission in my journey as an acrylic painter is to seek beauty in the midst of adversity, with a heart of compassion for those who suffer physically or are social isolated. My public art is the fullest expression of that desire for inclusiveness. My brushstrokes and palette knife work indicate the range of emotions contained in my subject; the differing levels of thickness and transparency of paints and glazes reveal complexity; and the range of colors I use show the delight I take in momentary glimpses of beauty. My work encompasses anything from individual paintings to large murals and complex projects. I take inspiration from stained glass and how the subject is transfigured as light reflects through it from different angles and perspectives.
