Caleb Howell
I am a queer, neurodivergent self-taught figurative painter. I am influenced by ecocriticism, abstract expressionism, and my lifelong ties to central Louisiana. My projects are meditative, cathartic, and spontaneous. Every painting is a concept painted over a concept, a process of sculpting complex emotion out of layers of paint. My intention is always to capture a snapshot of fleeting feelings and to reimagine what the human body can be.
