For the Love of the Mess correctly describes my studio, but not my art. I love nature, especially the ocean, wood, and bees. I use glass to help enhance the beauty and dimension of my art, so I sometimes have no idea how my mind may see and feel the parameters given for a show or for a new creation. I am beginning to trust my own instincts and feel with my heart more with each new endeavor. This is a more intense and vulnerable part of me that I've kept secreted away for fear of rejection and just plain judgment all of my life. I am 62 years old and would have liked to have discovered these parts of myself years ago. Yet, I also feel extremely lucky to have reached inside to pull out even a few pieces of my authentic self. Many people have never felt the freedom to express themselves. I was that person for too long. I am a true lover of the arts and believe everyone has a story to tell in some capacity. Arts are an important pathway to a full, true and happy life. I hope my art brings joy and expression to those who view and purchase. I would like to think that it expresses some of the same feelings others may have inside of themselves.
I have had work displayed at Critical Mass 10 and 11, the Louisiana Exhibit Museum; I have had pieces shown at the Andress Artists Building with The Shreveport Art Club and at The Reserved Table in Ida, Louisiana. I currently have pieces for sale at Agora Borealis and at Sanctuary Glass Studio and at the Sanctuary Galleries Paint Studio on the Boardwalk. I have been blessed to have a booth at the Red River Revel for the past three years.
I have taught art classes at Renzi Education and Art Center, acrylic painting at SAS Gallery, resin application at Shreveport Art Club and enjoyed Art Break in different art capacities over the last couple of years.
Artist Statement: I believe art should reach in and touch the soul. It should find the heart in the experiences and expectations of life.
