Brett Malone

My creative drive was nurtured by my family and the community I was raised in (Plain Dealing, LA) from early childhood. Over the years, I've found that I'm a "multipotentialite" when it comes to the creative arts. I spent my youth painting - then took a 15 year break for college, grad school, and my early career in human/social services. It was after my mother's death in 2000 that I moved to California and discovered the healing qualities of creating art - of various forms and using many different mediums. Since then, I've explored photography, knitting, sewing, quilting, and more recently - tie dyeing! While the COVID pandemic forced us all to "shift" a bit in different ways, I sewed masks... then got into making clothes... and now - dyeing plant-based fabrics. I'm going wherever the creative energy takes me... so - who knows what I'll be creating next! (Stay tuned!)
