As an interactive drumming leader, my DRUMMING ABOUT YOU menu of participatory programs is presented in settings including education, recreation, library and museum, senior center, performance,
community center, and social work. For 18 years, I served with Dr. Babatunde Olatunji as a "Faculty Assistant" for his "Language of the Drums" courses at the Omega Institute, Rowe Conference Center,
and Kripalu Institute. I played drums and sang as a performance member of Olatunji's African music and dance company, "Drums Of Passion" at venues including Lincoln Center, The Washington Monument, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, New York Towne Hall, and Jorgenson Center for the Performing Arts. From 2007 to 2010, I was chair of the Interactive Drumming Committee of The Percussive Arts Society, the largest percussion organization in the world. In 1997, I received certification as a "Master Teaching Artist" by The Connecticut Office of the Arts. I'm a Level One Trainer for the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence. My professional development workshops on leadership skills for interactive drumming are presented by organizations including: National Association for Music Education; New England League of Middle Schools; American Music Therapy Association; Percussive Arts Society; Connecticut Association for the Gifted; Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development; Connecticut After School Network.
