Brittany “BeeBee” Patillo is a local performing artist from Louisville, KY. After graduating from Louisville Male High School, she attended the University of Louisville and majored in Theatre Arts. She has worked with local theatre companies including Bunbury Theatre and Kentucky Shakespeare. Currently, she works as an artist in Kentucky Shakespeare’s Spring tour of Hamlet. In 2019, she was crowned the Kentucky Derby Festival Queen. She used her title to launch her platform #BeeMoved “Watering Concrete Roses”. One aspect of her platform focuses on the importance of the arts in underserved communities. For over three years, she has worked as a freelance creative director for several area churches around Louisville. (Greater Galilee Church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Elim Baptist Church, Gilt Edge Baptist Church) She is responsible for creating themes and organizing different youth programs throughout the year. In addition, she has been a local choreographer in Louisville for over four years. She currently works as the head dance coach at Iroquois High School, a dance instructor at the LaNita Rocknettes School of Dance, and a substitute Hip Hop instructor for Sacred Heart Academy.
