My work is a collection of pieces that express the human condition through the
perspective of African -Americans and people of color. My goal in my work is to give a
different insight and glimpse of my life and heritage from my cultural standpoint, which
has historically been ignored or not seen as important. My style of work has been
inspired by many artists from the Harlem Renaissance. I depict strong facial
expressions and exaggerated gestures to emphasize the content of the subject matter.
By honoring the traditions, spiritual beliefs and cultural experiences of my life. I strive to
inspire conversations, share allegory and connect emotionally to the viewer, regardless
of race, connecting our humanity.
