J. Aubrey Bolen III

Aubrey Bolen was born and raised in central Louisiana and has been involved in the arts since the late 1990s. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art with painting and drawing concentration from Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, LA. Many of Aubrey’s landscape paintings are part of private and corporate collections, with the most notable being two Kisatchie National Forest paintings which are part of Rapides Regional Medical Center’s collection intended to bring a welcoming and calming atmosphere to patients and their families. As an avid backpacker, Aubrey finds great inspiration when hiking the forest trails in central Louisiana. Aubrey is especially interested in capturing the beauty and uniqueness of the dense pine forests of Kisatchie National Forest. Through his artwork, Aubrey strives to raise awareness for Louisiana’s forests- their importance and captivating charm. Aubrey is the Creative Director at River Oaks Square Arts Center in Alexandria, LA and Director of River Oaks’ Summer Arts Studio for children. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arts Council of Central Louisiana. In 2010, Aubrey became involved with theatre arts when his wife, Nicole, and daughters, Jenevieve and Lorelei, started performing with local theatre companies. Since then, Aubrey has worked as a scenic artist and set designer for local high school and private theatre companies. Some of his more notable sets include Anastasia (Bolton Conservatory) and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Bolton Conservatory).
