Anthony Carabello

Guitarist Anthony Carabello is a young musician based in Hartford originally from California. Growing up in a diverse household with a musical father, Anthony was exposed to music from a young age starting the violin at four. At the age of seventeen he took up the guitar studying with Tony Davis and attending the Artist Collective where young musicians are under the tutelage of master artist Rene McLean and others. After completing school at Conard high Anthony enrolled and completed a very important four years at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the University of Hartford on a scholarship for both academics and music. During Anthony’s musical career he has been under the mentorship of rich Goldstein, Nat Reeves, Zacaai Curtis, Haneef Nelson, Javon Jackson, to name a few. Currently gigging in the greater New England/New York area while also teaching at the Boys and Girls club of Hartford, The Artist Collective and privately. As a sideman Anthony has performed with Nat Reeves, Haneef Nelson, Mike DiRubbo, Chris Beaudry, Jonathan Barber and other locals/peers from his time at the Hartt School. You can also find him at some local venues such as Black Eyed Sally’s, Cafe9, Dewey’s Jazz Club (MA), or The Courtland Club (Ri) to name a few. Anthony makes it a point to continue to grow as a musician and as a person, and looks for all opportunities to make connections to improve his skills both on and off the bandstand.
